“I can hand on heart say I have possibly had the worse day of my life within rescue today. We have been to a meat market and the noise and smell will stay with me for the rest of my life. 💔💔💔 There were kittens, puppies, adult dogs, rabbits, birds and fish. Pigs being castrated in the middle of the market. 😢😢😢😢 There were so, so many greyhounds. I was crying so much that at one point I thought my heart was about to stop. Not only are Greyhounds being sold for meat there were hunters and people who race the dogs there too. 💔💔💔💔💔 Greyhounds, I would say having seen it now with my own eyes, are in the top 3 breeds of dog being eaten in China. We saved 4 from the meat market and 13 from hunters /racers who were selling the dogs for meat or for racing. Altogether I have just spent over four thousand pounds.”
All the dogs, including the Greyhounds were rescued. They were all taken back to Plush Bear Shelter and the Greyhounds will be moved to our kennels in Beijing once we have space.
