OUR RESCUE PARTNERS

We have solid partnerships with trusted overseas rescues and organisations, as well as those in the UK. This means that our rescued Chinese Greyhounds and other dogs breeds can find homes in other parts of the world as well as the UK. Ultimately, this means we can save more dogs from the meat trade in China.

Galgos Del Sol (Spain)

Galgos del Sol is a large rescue based in Murcia, Spain that rescues abandoned and injured galgos (Spanish hunting greyhounds), rehabilitates them and finds them forever homes in the UK, US and Belgium. Thousands of galgos are abandoned or killed annually at the end of each short hunting season and as they are not always viewed as potential pets in Spain, they usually end up in perreras (pounds), where their lives are ended, often not in ways we would consider humane. Galgos del Sol is entirely dependent on fundraising for its survival and is run founder, Tina Solera, assisted by a group of dedicated volunteers based in Spain, USA, Belgium and the UK.

All Animal Rescue and Re-home

is a small, UK-registered charity based in Holbury, in the heart of the New Forest. Founded over a decade ago by Sarah Mills and Ross Cheer, the charity is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of unwanted animals.

While rescue remains at the core of their work, education is also a key focus. The team is passionate about raising awareness of the five animal welfare needs required by law, believing that informed pet ownership can help prevent animals from ending up in rescue in the first place.

All Animal Rescue is run from Sarah and Ross’s home and does not operate a public centre. Instead, all animals in their care are placed in loving foster homes throughout the Southampton area, where they receive the individual attention and support they need until a forever home is found.

The rescue focuses on saving dogs from pounds where they face euthanasia, taking in unwanted or abandoned pets, and giving ex-racing greyhounds a second chance at life beyond the track. They also work to reunite lost dogs with their owners, playing a vital role in the local community.

Dogs 4 Rescue

Inspired by rescue models abroad, this team set out to change the way the UK sees rescue dogs — and they’ve done just that.

Through pack rehabilitation and kennel-free living, they’ve created a space where dogs rediscover freedom, companionship, and confidence. Adopters meet happy, relaxed dogs in open, natural settings — not in rows of cages.

They’re on a mission to break the stigma around rescue dogs and show the world just how loving, loyal, and adoptable these dogs truly are.

With over 1,600 successful rehomings and a second 41-acre Sanctuary on the way, the rescue revolution is well underway — and it’s only just beginning.

Whippet Hilfe (Germany)

After almost 20 years of active animal welfare work, it was now time to found our own breed-specialized association.
Especially with whippets, it is often not easy to choose the right platform to find a suitable new home.
And so we were contacted more and more often to assist with placements or to take in dogs.
Our active team introduces itself in detail under the heading The Whippet Help Team.

Furthermore, we have a network of whippet-experienced people throughout Germany who are at our side with words and deeds.

We are always happy to welcome other like-minded people who would like to support us. Gladly in the active work of the association or as a sponsor, e.g. for the medical care of dogs that live in volunteer foster families.

Here on the website in the Around the Whippet” section and on our Facebook page, we also share joint activities, such as walks or exercise opportunities, where you can also get to know each other personally and make contacts.

We are excited to see how our project will develop and hope to be able to help many people and their whippets.

Yours, Bettina Kalmbach
