Maria is looking for her forever homeShe is full Greyhound and raced on the underground tracks in mainland China.When she stopped racing she was then sold at a meat market to the butchers.Unfortunately many Greyhounds are sold this was as our founder Kerry has witnessed many times when she has gone to China.Maria has many scars around her neck which would have been from her being picked up by the mental tongs that the butchers use to picked big dogs up.That practice is common in the meat trade because these dogs are fighting for their lives and the butchers don’t want to be bitten.Maria is a positive fun happy girl who loves the world.At walks times she is like a jumping little kangaroo.She is good with hounds but needs to learn more manners.She gets excited around smaller breeds so careful introduction is needed.Maria is around four years old.She is in foster with our founder Kerry in Lincolnshire.For more information please send us an email. mailto:rescue@candycanerescue.org
